Season 2027 · Starts 1 January

Climb your level. Win your category. Get promoted.

From 2027, every player has a ranking they can actually win. Here is how the new PPS ranking works, in two minutes.

1. Two rankings, two jobs

Overall ranking
How strong are you?
  • Every result counts, in every tier
  • Higher level = more points: Tier 1 100%, Tier 2 20%, Tier 3 10%, Tier 4 5%
  • Continues as today: your last 10 events, never resets
  • Decides your seeding in every draw
Category rankings
Who is the best at your level?
  • One ranking per category: Male Open, Diamond, Platinum, Silver Beginners · Female Open, Intermediate, Amateurs · Mix Challenger Pro, Intermediate, Amateurs · 1 vs 1, Juniors U16, Seniors +50
  • A new season every year: the title race starts fresh on 1 January
  • Decides leaders, prizes and promotion

2. Your home tier

Your rating decides your home tier. That is the level where you compete for the title. You can still play any tier you like.

Play at home
Full points in your category ranking.
Play up
Points count in your home ranking. A reward for taking on a bigger challenge.
Play down
No category points, so nobody can farm a lower level. It still counts in the overall ranking.
Playing with a partner from another tier?
Rankings are individual. Each partner is judged by their own home tier. A Diamond player who plays Male Open with an Open partner gets full points toward their Diamond ranking.

3. How you earn points

Points = number of players in the category × your result. Bigger field, bigger points.

Fixed points for every result — and all earlier results are recalculated the same way, so the ranking never mixes old and new points.

4. The season

1 JANUARY
The title race starts fresh
Your overall ranking and seeding carry on. Only the category race restarts, so everyone has a real chance.
EVERY EVENT
Climb the ladder
Movement arrows show who is rising after every event.
31 DECEMBER
Champions crowned
Top 3 in every category win prizes and enter the Hall of Fame.
PROMOTION
Move up a level
Top 3 in Diamond, Platinum, Silver Beginners, Intermediate and Amateurs move up a level for next season.
5. Category partners · Season 2027

Every category has its own season partner

Each partner backs one category for the whole season. On 31 December the top 3 of that category take home the partner's prizes.

What happens to my old points?
Nothing is lost. Your overall ranking and seeding continue. Your 2026 finish is saved in the Hall of Fame and shown as a badge on your profile.
How do I get promoted?
Finish top 3 in your category. PPS raises your rating and your home tier follows.
