PPS Player Ratings

Every player is rated 0 to 100. Your rating determines which categories you can enter and who you can team up with.

The Rating Scale

All PPS players are assigned a rating from 0 to 100. This number reflects your current playing level and is used to keep tournament categories fair and competitive.

0–30 Beginner
31–55 Intermediate
56–75 Advanced
76–100 Pro

How Your Rating Changes

Your rating is not fixed. It changes over time based on your match results in PPS events.

🎾
Play Matches
Every match you play in a PPS event counts towards your rating.
📊
Results Matter
Wins against higher-rated players boost your rating more. Losses to lower-rated players bring it down.
🔄
Always Updated
After each event, ratings are recalculated. The more you play, the more accurate your rating becomes.
⚖️
Fair Play
Ratings keep categories balanced so you always play against opponents at a similar level.

Rating & Categories

Your rating determines which tournament categories you are eligible to enter. This ensures every match is competitive and enjoyable.

Category Rating Range Who Is It For
Beginners 0 – 30 New to padel or just starting out in tournaments
Intermediate 31 – 55 Regular players with solid fundamentals
Advanced 56 – 75 Strong players who compete regularly
Open Pro 76 – 100 Top-level players, no restrictions

Some categories may have combined rating caps for a team. For example, a Mixed Intermediate category might require a combined team rating under 90. Check each event for specific rules.

New Players

If you are new to PPS, you will receive an initial rating based on a short self-assessment and any available match history. After your first few events, your rating will quickly adjust to reflect your true level. The more matches you play, the more accurate it gets.

Common Questions

How often does my rating change?
Your rating is updated after every PPS event you participate in. If you play in multiple events in a short period, you may see your rating change several times.
Can I play in a category above my rating?
Yes, you can always play up. A player rated 50 can enter the Advanced category if they want a challenge. However, you cannot play below your rating level to keep things fair.
What if I think my rating is wrong?
Ratings are based on match results, so the best way to change your rating is to play more matches. If you believe there is a technical error, contact PPS and we will review it.
Does my rating carry over between seasons?
Yes. Your rating is ongoing and does not reset between seasons. It is a continuous reflection of your current level.
What happens if I do not play for a long time?
Your rating stays where it was. It does not decay over time. When you return and play again, it will update based on your new results.
